It is very interesting to see your mail with Fish Print, or gyotaku in Japanese. In Japan it is a hobby to record the original size of fish caught by themselves. Yes, it is widely done painting directly to the fish and applicate on good paper. Another technique is putting a white paper on a fish, and coloring it to copy the color of fish. Both will do, but the first technique is popular by black coloring only. Most guys are making a fish print when they caught a very big fish to be proud of it. The biggest size may be 1 meter or other.
